Stephanie Cockrill

My name is Stephanie Cockrill. I am a Houston, Texas native and raised in Livermore, California. I currently work as a professional Engineer/Firefighter for Oakland Fire Department. I have served the City of Oakland and its citizens for 21 years. I attended Saint Mary's College of California where I earned my BS in Health & Human Performance and played D1 college soccer for (4) years. I went on to play soccer professionally in the WPSL for two years after graduation. When I retired from pro soccer, I went on to earn my MS Kinesiology/Sports Physiology at Texas A&M University.

At a young age I found my love for horses. My Dad was a huge part of my love for them. My Dad would take me to the horse track where he introduced me to his friends that were trainers. I was determined to learn to ride. I earned my riding lessons by cleaning stalls and helping bathe horses two days a week. I rode around on trails, the track and around the arena. When I entered High School, horses fell on the back burner.

I returned to recreation riding as an adult in 2010 and dabbled a bit at random barrel racing jackpots with friends. As I began to gain confidence, and the courage I attended my first competitive barrel racing jackpot solo in August 2019. I quickly became hooked on barrel racing, and incorporated riding in my everyday routine. Not only has riding reignited my competitive spirit, passion, sparked new goals, my desire to improve my horsemanship and teamwork, but it has provided me with necessary therapeutic outlook from working in the very busy City of Oakland.

Sadie Foskett

Hi! My name is Sadie Foskett I’m 15 years old and I live in Northern California. I’m a member of California High School Rodeo Association (CHSRA) District 5. I compete in barrel racing, pole bending and breakaway roping. I grew up riding our ranch horses and began competing in high school rodeo in 2021. My biggest accomplishment is winning CHSRA 2023 State Champion Pole Bender along with winning the two long go’s and the short go! That qualified me to go to nationals in Gillette, Wyoming my rookie year snagging second place in the second round with a 19.5.  I’m blessed to swing a leg over my main mount “Cactus” who I patterned on the poles. He has taken me places I’ve only ever dreamed of. I have two other horses that I’m training for Barrels: “Chilly,” a gray mare and “Easy,” a black gelding. Stable Mix is an absolute essential in my barn and keeps my team feeling their best! I’m so excited to be on the 2024 Stable Mix team!

Sutter Buttes Interscholastic Girls Polo Team

The Sutter Buttes Interscholastic high school polo team are a relatively new team of 4 local girls aged 12-16. Last year was their first year together but they are practicing hard in hopes to go to regionals this year and even nationals someday.

"We are big fans of your feed, we use it regularly and is our top recommendation to people. We have a small string of horses, (Summer, Africa, Mono, and Regalo) mostly in their early to mid twenties and one, Summer, eats exclusively Senior Stable Mix as she has lost her teeth due to age. It has kept her happy, healthy, and in shape to play. We look forward to representing Elk Grove Milling at future tournaments and games." - Ellie D.

Laura Zamora

My name is Laura and my two war horses are Fixn to be Famous “Smarty” and Jess Can’t Wait to be King “Floyd”.  When I’m not riding, my husband and I run Tri Star Landscape and I am also a Realtor.  Horses have been a part of my entire life and are my true passion.  When I was 5 years old I was told that if I wanted a pony it was my responsibility to take care of him.  I was taught that love, proper care and good horsemanship always came before the ride.  Over the past three years, with the support of my husband John, I have set and met several barrel racing goals with these amazing animals.  One being we made Top 25 year-end WCBRA.  I have overwhelming gratitude for these horses as they have exceeded my expectations and made my dreams come true.  My goal is to continue competing and enjoy the ride!
