Mill Production Worker
Job Summary:
Elk Grove Milling Inc. as been in business for over 30 years. We are involved in the manufacture and sale of high quality equine and livestock feeds (alfalfa hay pellets). We are currently hiring Mill Production Workers to work in our Production Division. The starting wage for our entry-level positions is $14.00/hourly plus any applicable overtime. Benefits include health insurance, dental coverage, and paid vacation and sick leave. A $0.50/$1.00 per hour shift differential is paid for working swing or night shifts. Our available positions are full-time positions.
Everyday Job Duties:
Please note: Working in the mill and warehouse environments includes exposure to dust, dirt, and noise. Proper safety equipment is provided.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Work in a team environment to achieve the production goals of the company
- Maintain equipment and contribute to clean production and warehouse areas
- Working with production machinery
- Operate forklift, loader, tractor, skid-steer loader, hay squeeze loader, yard truck (no experience necessary, training provided)
- Conscientious of safety practices and operational procedures within a warehouse
- Inspect quality of product after production
- Read instruction documents and write notes recording activities
- Read and follow the Standard Operating Procedures
- Promote teamwork and effective production throughout each shift
- Consistently be on site and ready to start on time
- Maintain professional work standards
- Report to a supervisor or manager
Production, Light Industrial Requirements
- Able to read production documents and write notes recording production activities
- Able to follow specific verbal directions
- Forklift and/or heavy equipment experience is helpful
- Able to stand for extended periods of time and do tasks that require reaching, bending and carrying. Some assignments may require repetitive moving or lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to speak and write fluently in English (bi-lingual English/Spanish is a plus)
- Active and relevant full time work history within the past year
Elk Grove Milling hiring and Character Requirements:
- Submit to a background check

- Must be at least 18 years old
- Provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States
- Must be able to provide at least 3 references from prior employers/supervisors
- Must be motivated, energetic, with the ability to get along well with others in the workplace
- Must be professional with responsive and responsible nature.
- Must have a strong work ethic, be reliable, with desire to work hard.
